Marie Garcia Melli serves as a Director at Cambiar Education.
At Cambiar, Marie collaborates with partners and entrepreneurs to support them to accelerate their progress, scale transformative models, and sustain change through our unique design approach.
Before joining Cambiar, Marie served as the deputy director at The Broad Center where she developed the curriculum for The Broad Academy, which engages with proven leaders from across the country who are dedicated to transforming school systems so that every student receives a world-class public education.
Prior to The Broad Center, Marie managed 50CAN’s expansion efforts as the director of new site development. Previously, she served as the national organizations liaison for The Education Trust, a national advocacy organization that promotes high academic achievement for all students at all levels, from pre-kindergarten through college. Her work focused on a national, multi-stakeholder initiative to expand and intensify the impact of The Education Trust’s efforts.
Marie started her career in education in her hometown of Los Angeles as a field deputy and then as chief of staff to a board member of the L.A. Unified School District.
Marie has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of Southern California. After graduating college, Marie spent a year serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at a grassroots community development organization in South Los Angeles.
