Mike McDonald is Product Lead for Run the Future at Cambiar Education.
Run the Future teaches innovation skills through identity-affirming, real-world learning experiences. Participants ages 16-26 transform into innovators, and develop a strong sense of self, while building both durable skills and tangible outputs that support success in a variety of pathways, including college, career, and entrepreneurship.
As a Product Lead at Cambiar Education, Mike is leading the evolution of the Run the Future learning experience to create a blended education product that can help reach more aspiring young entrepreneurs and innovators.
Mike has nearly 20 years of experience in the education publishing and edtech industry. Prior to joining Cambiar, Mike was the VP for Product Management at Wiley, overseeing a global team in Wiley’s academic learning division focused on creating transformational digital learning products and experiences. His work focused on helping address education challenges across the learning journey from college to career, from the perspective of instructors, learners and in partnership with higher education institutions and employers.
Prior to Wiley, Mike worked in product management and sales at Pearson Education at a time when learning in colleges was rapidly transitioning to more technology centric models. It was here that he developed a passion for helping students of all backgrounds achieve their full potential.
Prior to working in publishing, Mike worked for Thomson Financial in San Francisco as an analyst in their Capital Markets Intelligence group.
Mike holds a B.A. in History from Cornell University and a Masters in Instructional Design from WGU. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and two sons.
