RoseMary Clairmont serves as Operations & Partnerships Lead for The Liber Institute.

The Liber Institute develops the leadership capacity of Indigenous students, families, and educators to transform schools and the communities they serve.

RoseMary, a Sicangu Lakota, born in Rosebud, South Dakota, grew up on the Navajo/Hopi reservations in Tuba City, AZ. Her Lakota name, Woihanbli Itokab Mani Win which translates to ‘Woman who walks with a vision or dream’. She is a mother of two daughters, 12 and 14 years old and pack leader to 3 dogs. She loves yoga, mud runs and hiking. As a family they love fishing, camping, and travelling.

Professionally, RoseMary has 16 years of K-12 teaching and administration experience, and 6 years of tribal education specialist experience. She sits on a Women’s fast pitch board, continues to support Rosebud Sioux Tribe Education Department and the community with interpreting and implementing the tribal education code, leading their task force on education on building partnerships and wide support for Lakota students, and currently in the final stages of completing her doctoral work around tribal control of education.
