Scott Benson serves as Strategy Lead for Cambiar Education.
With a steadfast belief in the potential of education to transform the lives of individuals and uplift communities, Scott has spent virtually his entire career working at the intersection of education, innovation, and equity. At Cambiar, he manages several critical workstreams in organizational strategy, pipeline development, research, and external relations.
Before joining Cambiar, Scott founded Trail B, a social impact consulting firm that provided strategic advisory services to mission-driven leaders in education and adjacent sectors. Previously, Scott designed and led several major grant portfolios at two leading education philanthropies - NewSchools Venture Fund and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Scott began his career in education as a Broad Resident in the D.C. Public Schools.
Scott has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. On the side, he teaches “The Business of Education” to graduate students at UNC’s School of Education and serves on several nonprofit boards. Scott is the proud father of three daughters and enjoys running, backpacking, and playing tennis in his spare time.
