OnYourMark is an early literacy tutoring initiative bringing individualized and science-based foundational skills reading instruction to K-2 students across the country through virtual high impact tutoring.

Joan is an Early Literacy Coach with OnYourMark. Using coaching practices, she supports and assists tutors in the preparation and delivery of instruction for students. In addition, she collaborates with other teams to further the growth of OnYourMark. 

Joan is a former OnYourMark tutor and is a committed advocate, dedicated to making academic progress accessible to all learners. Her background is as an Elementary Interventionist, providing 18 years of RTI services Pre-K-5th grade, using countless research based and Science of Reading resources. Joan served instructional groups ranging from 504 and IEP accommodations to enrichment. In addition, is an experienced benchmark assessor. Through her career Joan  enjoyed piloting new programs such as Jumpstart to Kindergarten which provided Foundational Literacy to  rising kindergarteners, served on a district  Professional Development Steering Team,  facilitated a Rosetta Stone program, and served as a Focused Reading 3rd Grade Guarantee tutor. 

Joan served as an Instructor as well as a director for the National Inventors Hall of Fame Camp Invention STEM camp for many years and prior to education worked in management for specialty retailers and for The Walt Disney Corporation.
